Manila, Philippines – Malakang Palace officially declared July 31 as a regular holiday for Eid-ul-Adha 2020. The President made this declaration through Declaration No. 985, which was signed on July 29, on the recommendation of the National Commission on the Muslim Philippines.

As mentioned earlier in our 2020 Philippine Holiday Blog post, the President’s Office will announce the official date of the celebration based on the advice of the National Commission on the President of the Muslim Philippines (NCMF).

Eid-ul-Adha is “one of the two greatest festivals of Islam” and this Islamic holiday, based on the Republic Act 9849, should be celebrated as a regular holiday.

Eid al-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated around the world each year and is considered more powerful than Eid al-Fitr. Eid al-Adha is an Islamic festival in which Ibrahim (also called Ibrahim) celebrates his willingness to obey God’s command to sacrifice his son. Muslims around the world observe the event.

Distributing meat (sheep, goat, camel, or cow) to the people during Eid-ul-Adha, shouting the takbeer before the first day’s prayers, and after the three days of Eid prayers, are considered essential parts. Islamic festival.

Comp compensation for national regular holidays

a. If it is an employee’s regular work day
  • If work is not done, an employee will be paid 100% of his or her daily rate.
  • If work is done, an employee will be paid 200% of his daily rate for 8 hours. (Daily rate x 200%)
  • Over 8 hours – 30% hourly rate with this day
b. If it’s an employee rest day
  • If not work – 100%
  • If worked – first 8 hours – 30% of 200%
  • Over 8 hours – 30% hourly rate with this day
